Resistant fruit tree Bigarreau cherry In 80-100 cm pot.

The cherry tree, Prunus cerasus, is a fruit tree that is part of the Rosaceae family. It originates from Asia Minor. Burlat was born in the Rhône during the First World War, the result of a cross between a bigarreau cherry tree and a cherry tree. It draws its qualities from its two parents: the resistance of bigarreau and the productivity of cherry.

This variety is hardy. It supports temperatures of around -20° under optimal conditions. Undemanding, it will thrive in any type of climate and in any type of soil, except too humid or too dry.

The Burlat cherry tree is often grafted onto a Saint Lucia cherry tree or a Prunus mahaleb. It has rapid development and early production, which will be optimal at the age of 6 or 7 years.

What size for an adult Burlat cherry tree? In general, as an adult, a cherry tree is between 6 and 8 meters high, if all the conditions are met to offer it good growth, particularly in terms of watering and its location which must offer it maximum sunshine during the day. If you choose to plant one in your garden, think about its height, of course, but also the volume of the branches, because the cherry tree has a wingspan of 6 m wide.
