Properties and uses:
The gooseberry is a small thorny shrub. The redcurrants it produces can be eaten raw or cooked, and can be used to prepare jams, jellies, as an accompaniment to meats, etc. They reach maturity in July-August.

The gooseberry bush 'Hinnönmaki Gold' produces large, fragrant yellow-green fruits. This variety is quite resistant to powdery mildew.
